 CHAIRPERSON MESSAGE
I look forward to continuing to work with the Council and the Australian Statistician, along with the Assistant Treasurer, to provide an effective and responsive national statistical service for Australia.
During 2009, there were a number of changes in the Council's membership, and during 2010 I look forward to working with the new members, and those members reappointed to the Council. The work done by Council members to support the activities of the ABS, including membership of other ABS advisory groups, is also appreciated.
I would like to convey my appreciation to the Statistician, Mr Brian Pink, and his team for their positive approach to working with the Council, and to the advice we provide.
The Council's annual report for 2008-09 is available on the web site (www.asac.gov.au), and it contains information about the Council, including its functions and membership, together with meeting agendas.
